Minor Illness and Common Condition Assessment
In Ontario, this service is publicly funded with no cost to Ontario residents with a valid health card. Pharmacists are able to assess the following minor ailments:
Acne (mild)
Allergic rhinitis
Candidal stomatitis (oral thrush)
Canker sores (oral aphthae)
Conjunctivitis (bacterial, allergic and viral)
Dermatitis (atopic, eczema, allergic and contact)
Diaper dermatitis
Dysmenorrhea
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Hemorrhoids
Herpes labialis (cold sores)
Impetigo
Insect bites and urticaria (hives)
Musculoskeletal sprains and strains
Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy
Pinworms and threadworms
Tick bites, post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent Lyme disease
Urinary tract infections (uncomplicated)
Vulvovaginal candidiasis (yeast infection)
